This viroid is mostly found to infect Chrysanthemum and related ornamentals. Symptoms can be so severe that infected finished crops of flowers are unsuitable for sale. There is no chemical control for CSVd.
The viroid can survive from one season to the next in infected plants and is contact transmissible.
A molecular test is used to identify presence of the viroid in samples.
When sending plant pathogens and invertebrate samples from outside England and Wales for testing please email the Crop health team ([email protected]) who will issue you with the relevant Letter of Authority to ensure your samples are not delayed upon entry to the UK. Chrysanthemum
