Catherine is a senior molecular biologist at Fera Science Ltd involved in the development of novel diagnostic techniques for the detection of pests and pathogens with a key focus on in-field diagnostics to address questions in plant health and other areas. Catherine has extensive experience in designing, optimising, and validating molecular detection methods for a wide range of pests and pathogens. Catherine has a keen interest in researching the mechanisms involved in fungicide and pesticide resistance and developing tools to enable farmers to make more informed decisions about crop protection strategies. Catherine is also an experienced microbiologist starting her career at Fera in the Food microbiology team.
