Marco is a Senior molecular scientist with 8 years’ experience in molecular ecology of which 4 working at Fera. He has a background in molecular ecology and in environmental monitoring of freshwater environments targeting environmental DNA (eDNA).
Over the last 4 years he has worked as delivery coordinator of large-scale projects focusing on plant pathogens including bacterial disease in carrots across the UK with particular attention to pathogen spillover between crop plants and other closely related wild plants.
Marco is currently involved in a project focused on risk assessment of plant and animal pathogens focusing on environmental monitoring and potential risks from pathogens spreading between wild and domesticated species across England and Wales.
