Tomato mosaic virus can be found dormant in tomato seeds, and with few tomato species providing resistance to this disease.

Symptoms of this disease include leaves of affected tomato plants showing mottling and young leaves may be twisted. Plants with ToMV have fruit which may be distorted, with necrotic spots.
When sending plant pathogens and invertebrate samples from outside England and Wales for testing please email the Crop health team ([email protected]) who will issue you with the relevant Letter of Authority to ensure your samples are not delayed upon entry to the UK.
