To be certain that your products are safe for your customer and consumers you need to be confident that your cereals and processed grain products do not exceed the maximum regulatory levels for Deoxynivalenol.
National Reference Laboratory - Mycotoxins and Plant Toxins

The method used is fully accredited to ISO17025 for food and feed samples and is based on an immunoaffinity column clean-up with HPLC-UV detection. Matrix optimised extraction protocols coupled with highly specific clean-up protocols allow the analysis to respond optimally for challenging matrices so we can be sure the results produced are fit for purpose, accurate and precise.
Deoxynivalenol, also known as “Vomitoxin”, is a member of the trichothecenes mycotoxin group, which are known to cause significant and potentially harmful effects to consumers. The trichothecenes are a very large family of chemically related mycotoxins produced by varieties of Fusarium, common soil fungi, prevalent in temperate regions of America, Europe and Asia. These toxins have been shown to cause a variety of toxic effects in livestock and on occasion in humans.
Deoxynivalenol is a mycotoxin produced by Fusarium fungi which are abundant cereal crops (wheat, maize, barley, oats, and rye) and processed grains (malt, beer and bread).
Deoxynivalenol is very stable both during storage/milling and the processing/cooking of food, and as it does not degrade at high temperatures, it has great potential to be present in food and feed chains.
Dexoynivalenol inhibits the synthesis of DNA and RNA and protein synthesis at the ribosomal level and an acute dose can induce vomiting in pigs although at lower concentrations it can reduce growth and feed consumption.
