This is an ISO accredited test for the extraction and identification to genus of cyst nematodes excluding Potato Cyst Nematodes (PCN), such as Beet Cyst Nematode (BCN) and Cereal Cyst Nematode (CCN) from soil. Cyst nematodes represent important pests of potatoes, brassicas, vegetables and graminaceous crops, having the potential to cause significant yield losses. Testing land before planting will help with varietal choice and allow informed decision on sustainable rotations to be made.

This service provides a cyst count and viability assessment for all cyst nematodes excluding Potato Cyst Nematodes (PCN) from soil. We understand you may have a large number of samples to safeguard your crops, so we offer discounts for multiple samples.

Add-on services are available for this test at an additional cost if the relevant life stages have been recovered; these include ‘grouping’ of Heterodera spp. for UK samples only, species identification (international samples may incur an additional cost) or eggs per gram analysis. Prices are available upon request.
